Product Updates for Civic Review

Centerville can now bring existing permitting and licensing records into Civic Review with the details staff and applicants need from day one.

New Features

• Import permitting and licensing records with applicant details, documents, fees, history, and renewal information preserved.

Improvements

• Permit and plan review messages now use primary contacts, including multiple primary email addresses, to reduce duplicate recipients and keep renewals moving once a primary email is added.

From August 24–30, Civic Review made permit contact management more flexible and reliable. Keep the right people connected to each permit and make sure important updates reach everyone who needs them.

Introducing Permit Contacts

Manage contacts directly on each permit for a clearer view of everyone involved. Keep communications aligned with the right recipients, without overwriting contacts your staff manage.

• View applicants, owners, billing contacts, and other contacts from the Permit Overview.
• Control who can view and manage manually added contacts; contacts linked to permit details stay protected from conflicting changes.
• Choose primary contacts for automated notifications, including permit, renewal, payment, inspection, messaging, plan review, and resubmission notices.
• Keep form contacts current as applicants update their information, and let renewal applicants provide a current email address when needed.

Staff turnover shouldn’t leave you with stale reviewer lists or missed plan review emails. This week’s update keeps plan reviews moving by automatically cleaning up roles and ensuring notifications still reach an administrator.

Bug Fixes

• When a user is removed from your organization, they’re automatically removed from plan review roles, notification lists, and saved permit views so they no longer appear as a reviewer or coordinator.
• If a plan review ends up with no coordinators, notification emails now go to your organization or permit administrators so submissions and responses still get delivered.

Bug Fixes

• If a fee formula can’t be computed (for example, because it would divide by zero), the fee now defaults to $0 instead of showing an incorrect total.

Improvements

• Updated the “Under Review” permit status text so applicants and staff see a clearer message—without changing your review workflow.
