Customer updates for Civic Review

Improvements shipped in Civic Review from July 27, 2026 – August 02, 2026 focus on accessibility—making navigation and file uploads work more reliably for keyboard and assistive‑technology users.

Improvements

• Tooltips work cleanly with keyboards and screen readers—they’re announced properly and don’t block nearby links.
• More reliable file uploads without a mouse—you can open the file picker via keyboard/screen reader, and drag‑and‑drop and selected files are handled consistently.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed issues where tooltips could interrupt keyboard navigation.
• Fixed issues where file drop/upload interactions weren’t fully accessible.

Forms and application pages in Civic Review now display checkbox groups reliably—especially after you change a field from a single checkbox to a checkbox group.

Bug Fixes

• Checkbox group fields now show the correct selections (or an empty state) after converting from a single checkbox.

Improvements to permit notification permissions

Permit notifications can now go to the right staff without making them Admins. Use a dedicated permission to control who receives updates, so access stays appropriately limited.

• Pick recipients using a new Receive permit notifications permission (not just Admin users).
• The new permission is included in default roles, so you can adopt it with minimal setup.
• Custom role permission details now show correctly when viewing users.

New Features

• Set image width/height in Markdown. When you add images in Markdown (for messages, comments, or notes), you can specify the image size so it renders the way you intend.

July 06, 2026 – July 12, 2026 makes reconciliation easier and helps you move to external inspection tools without losing your place.

New Features

• More complete transaction reporting: Downloaded reports now include Check Number on the item-detail report and Permit Type on the transactions report. Permit-related columns are also ordered consistently so you can scan and reconcile faster.

Improvements

• External inspection links open in a new tab: Links to the inspection app (reports, inspection project pages, and creating/adding an inspection) now open in a separate browser tab, so Civic Review stays right where you left it.

Bug Fixes

• No errors for restricted roles viewing change logs: If your role can’t view permit change logs, saving form data or refreshing valuations won’t trigger errors—Civic Review simply skips retrieving those logs.

Permit and GIS-heavy workflows should feel steadier this week in Civic Review—especially when you’re collecting fees and reviewing maps.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed an issue where payments on event-based permits (including initial fees) didn’t always record, so invoices and payment records are now created reliably.
• Kept map drawing tools from cutting out during reviews, so you can continue drawing shapes, markers, and polygons without interruptions.
